RIGLINK ("we", "our", or "us") provides fleet management software comprising the RIGLINK Driver mobile application and the RIGLINK Dispatch Console web application. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.
By using RIGLINK Driver or the RIGLINK Dispatch Console, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please stop using the services and contact your company administrator.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to drivers who use the RIGLINK Driver mobile app and to dispatchers, managers, and administrators who use the RIGLINK Dispatch Console. Access to both products is provided through your employer or haulage company ("your company"), which is the data controller for your personal data. RIGLINK acts as a data processor on your company's behalf.
2. Information we collect
Account information: Your name, email address, and hashed password, provided by your company administrator when your account is created.
Location data: When you are logged in and the app is in use, RIGLINK Driver collects your device's GPS coordinates, heading, and speed. This data is shared with your dispatcher in real time and is used to display your position on the fleet map. Location collection stops when you close the app or log out.
Documents and images: Photos you capture through the in-app camera (Bills of Lading, fuel receipts, proof of delivery, and other documents) are uploaded to secure cloud storage and made available to your dispatcher and fleet manager.
Operational data: Load details, fuel entries, ETA updates, home time requests, and delivery status updates that you submit through the app.
Device information: Device push notification token (used to deliver app notifications), device operating system, and app version.
3. How we use your information
- To authenticate you and maintain your session.
- To display your location to your dispatcher and fleet manager on the live fleet map.
- To associate uploaded documents with the correct load and driver record.
- To deliver push notifications for new load assignments and announcements from dispatch.
- To calculate fuel efficiency metrics for your fleet manager.
- To process home time requests and ETA updates.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.
4. Data sharing
Your data is shared with your employer and with the following service providers who process data on our behalf:
- DigitalOcean:cloud hosting and object storage (London and Atlanta regions).
- Expo:mobile build infrastructure and push notification delivery.
- Vercel:hosting for the RIGLINK Dispatch Console.
All providers are contractually required to process data only as instructed and to maintain appropriate security measures.
5. Data retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your employer maintains an active RIGLINK subscription. Location history is retained for 90 days. Uploaded documents are retained for as long as your employer requires them and deleted upon their written request. If your account is deactivated, your personal data will be anonymised or deleted within 60 days unless a longer retention period is required by law.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because your account is managed by your employer, please raise these requests with your company administrator in the first instance. You may also contact us directly using the details below.
7. Security
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS). Uploaded documents are stored in private cloud buckets not accessible to the public. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel.
8. Children
RIGLINK is a professional tool intended for use by adults in the course of employment. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email to company administrators. Continued use of RIGLINK after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
